Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions outline the rules for participating in MP Sport Fishing Malaysia’s fishing competitions (“Competition”). By entering the Competition, all participants (“Entrants”) agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Non-compliance may result in disqualification.
2. Eligibility
- The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or older.
- Employees, contractors, and family members of MP Sport Fishing Malaysia are not eligible to participate.
- All participants must comply with Malaysian fishing laws and regulations at all times.
3. Competition Entry
- To participate, Entrants must register for the competition by completing the official registration form provided by MP Sport Fishing Malaysia.
- Entries are limited to one per person, unless stated otherwise.
- The Competition is a game of skill, requiring Entrants to catch fish using legal fishing techniques as outlined in Section 4.
4. Permitted Fishing Techniques
- Line Fishing: Only fishing rods, lines, hooks, lures, and landing nets are permitted.
- Illegal methods: The use of nets, traps, explosives, poisons, or any other non-compliant fishing method is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.
- All catches must comply with the size and species regulations of Malaysian fishing laws.
5. Competition Rules
- Participants must fish within the designated competition areas and timeframes announced by MP Sport Fishing Malaysia.
- Fish must be caught alive and in good condition. Dead fish or fish caught outside competition hours will be disqualified.
- All decisions made by MP Sport Fishing Malaysia judges and officials are final and non-contestable.
6. Prizes
Prizes are awarded based on fish size, weight, or category as defined for the Competition. Categories may include:
- Biggest Catch (by length or weight)
- Special Species (as designated)
- Junior Angler Award (for young participants, if applicable)
- Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless specified.
7. Verification & Claims
To claim a prize, Entrants must:
- Provide proof of registration and identification (e.g., IC, passport).
- Present the fish (if required) for inspection at the designated weigh-in station or official location.
- Failure to meet these requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize.
8. Participant Safety & Risks
- Entrants acknowledge that fishing involves inherent risks. Participants accept full responsibility for their safety, equipment, and actions during the Competition.
- MP Sport Fishing Malaysia will not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damages arising from participation in the Competition.
9. Use of Personal Information
- Personal information collected during registration will be used to manage the Competition and for future marketing and promotional activities.
- By entering, participants consent to their name, photograph, and competition results being used for promotional purposes.
10. Disqualification
Participants may be disqualified for:
- Use of prohibited fishing methods;
- Tampering with fish size, condition, or tags;
- Providing false or misleading information;
- Breaching any rules outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
11. General Conditions
- MP Sport Fishing Malaysia reserves the right to alter, postpone, or cancel the Competition at any time due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather conditions, safety concerns).
- Any disputes or complaints will be handled at the sole discretion of MP Sport Fishing Malaysia.
- The Competition is governed by the laws of Malaysia.
